For my knitwear the most important is the colour and the form, these together create the harmonious character of the knitwear.
The surface is decorated with raised figures, which I call “cleats” and combine in patterns of figures and stripings. As the result the texture is very light and airy and there are no float stitches on the back for the fingers or bijou to get caught in when putting the knitwear on.
Furthermore patterns strengthen the construction of the knitwear and create a lively three-dimensional surface of lights and shadows.
Felting provides an extra dimension for the knitwear.
Every piece of knitwear is designed and fabricated carefully and built on individual ideas by sacrificing a substantial amount of time and effort. The result is a high quality, long lasting and timeless product.
I exclusively use 100% natural materials, of which wool is absolutely my first choice.
I am also very fond of the natural colours and the beauty of the matt gloss of linen.
My dear companions since many years in Tampere are dressmaker Leena Silvennoinen and her Studio Simsetti in Lapinniemenranta, milliner Maija Paju and her charming fashion shop in Hämeenpuisto and Liisa Pikkujämsä and her Unica Fashion Oy. These companies sell my products, while Unica also exports them worldwide.
